Kathryn Selvester was born in Brooklyn, New York
and started to study voice at the young age of five years old
studying Opera. Kathryn has performed at the Brooklyn Academy
Opera House and made her N Y debut at Judson Hall. At twelve she
studied with the famous Dr. Peter J. Willhouski. He was the
co-founder of Lincoln Center and the Conductor for the Metropolitan
Opera Chorus. She studied with him at Carnegie Hall. During that
time she also had a hit record on the
charts with Carole Kings "No Easy Way Down" climbing to # 22 on the Billboard Charts.
At 17, she won an audition to play Mary
Magdelegne in the famous "Jesus
Christ Superstar" . Kathryn Performed as
Mary to crowds of Tens of
Thousands and toured the country numeous times to perform
in the largest arenas in the Nation
Kathryn is a published song writer.
She is a recording artist who has written hundreds of
songs and is a BMI affiliate.
Kathryn started performing with Lionel
Hampton, Tito Puente, Peter Allen, Buddy Hacket, and Al
Jareau, while recording commercials for
Holiday Inn and Kodak, to name a few. She has toured the country
numerous times performing in concert for different Universities and
Starring in her own Television
Special titled "Something
at the Grand Opening of the MGM Grand Hotel in
Las Vegas and Ceasers Palace, as well as concerts in Dallas,
Philadelphia, Chicago, and Atlantic City where she played
Harrah's, and Bally's Casinos and headlined at the famous Ritz
showroom in New York
A few years ago Kathryn moved to Citrus County
and became very active in her community. Three years ago, she was
invited to become a Rotarian, and loves the good work Rotary does
for the good of all.
She has performed at many Fund Raisers for, The
United Way, The Cancer Foundation, Sertoma
Mentoring Village, Playhouse 19, The USO, as well as helping to
raise money for the homeless and traumatized.
You can hear her
Christmas song "Cant Wait For Christmas" played on
local stations every season. Kathryn has recently recorded her new album titlled
"Feelin" Again" in Nashville TN. She is the
founder of the " Hope Fund " for people who
have suffered a tragic event. She believes that people who suddenly
becme ill should be able to rest and recover, without the worry as
to how they are going to pay there bills. A good portion of the
proceeds from this Album will go to that Fund. She has also provided
a "Make a Donation" Button for those who
choose not to purchase her new CD but still want to help.
Kathryn and her "UPTOWN
SOUND" featuring various musicians and
the talented Tony Maltese on Drums
will start performing soon in a city near you.
Kathryn's special talent lies in the fact that she loves
to sing her heart out and the music she writes always has a story to
tell. She has a "Great Big Voice" to go along with her "Great
